The mission of Alpha Omega Kappa Fraternity, Incorporated is to provide knowledge of existing gender issues and dispel any misconceptions of our community.  We are dedicated to providing service to the community by addressing the potential concerns that may arise.

The Tau Kappa Phi Family

Tau Kappa Phi is the only phamily of it’s kind within the
Greek Community. We consist of 5 constitutionally bound
organizations that service the entire community.

The History of Tau Kappa Phi, Inc is very unique because the “family” was not formed all at one time. We, the members of “The Kappa Family”, all had beautiful but separate beginnings. The “family” was started with the founding of Kappa Psi Kappa Fraternity, Inc. on August 17, 2001 in Tallahassee, FL.  The founders of Kappa Psi Kappa had a vision of  sisterhood with an organization for dominant lesbians and one for feminine lesbians. Their plan was to constitutionally bind the three organizations.  On February 20, 2002 in Tallahassee, FL on the campus of Florida State University,  Phi Nu Kappa Sorority and Alpha Psi Kappa Fraternity were formed. After the remarkable formation of these two organizations there was a meeting of the respective founders to coordinate the constitutional bond between the three organizations. On March 28, 2002 “The Kappa Family” was founded and began working as separate entities, but bound as one family. On August 13, 2002 the “family” gained further prominence by attaining the Greek Lettered distinction of Tau Kappa Phi. To complete the formation of “The Kappa Family”, Alpha Omega Kappa Fraternity  & Kappa Iota Sigma Sorority was founded by members of The Kappa Family; with this, to be the final transformation of The Kappa Family.
